Mono-Block Stoppers in conjunction with Sub Entry Nozzle or Tundish Nozzle allow the Metering of flow of Steel in mould thereby allowing only desired flow in mould . This requirement necessitates many types of configuration on Stopper head and many types on Sen Cup combination of which deliver the optimized results for flow .

Made with Isostatically pressed Alumina Carbon or Magnesia Carbon or Zirconia Carbon composites, we tailor-make MBS to suit specific customer requirements. Argon injection through MBS helps reducing Alumina Build Up at Seat of Sen thereby allowing consistent Metering behavior of MBS. Such Argon Injection in bubble form also helps in minimizing Alumina Build up in bore and port of Sub Entry Nozzle. We also offer a Reuseable type of MBS mostly used in Mini Steel Plants.

Monoblocks can be provided with many combinations of Mixes to provide Consistent Control on Metering Function. Steel grades with Sulfur, high Ca ppm, High ppm of O2 content, Stainless Steel, etc need different materials in Stopper Head so as control on Metering Function is well maintained and a Running Stopper does not happen.

Further, the slag Zone of MBS can be suitably strengthened to guard off against highly corrosive Tundish Slag which changes its character over a long sequence casting from Basic to Acidic until Conditioners inadequate quantity used for moderating the Slag.

Steering Rod being the main Rod suspending the MBS in use, it is important to see that it is confirming to Drawing and also after many usages, it is kept in perfect health failing which catastrophic failures can happen during usages of Tundish.

We can supply all the above types of Sen to the Steelmaker to suit their requirement.

Sen must be normally follow a preheat condition failing which they may underperform or give catastrophic results. Lower preheat is not desired due to a higher degree of Thermal shock while much higher preheat temperature and duration is nor desirable as will lead to failure of Anti Oxidant Planet (AOP) of the Body. Further, minimum change Over time ie end of Preheat to start off casting is important for the good performance of Sen.

However, we can provide Sen which can work on a low preheat of no preheat also but the longevity of such Sen remains low. They should be considered only for Emergency situation.
